A great masonry company nobody could find
KS Masonry Restoration had been doing exceptional work in the Cleveland market for years — quality craftsmanship, happy customers, the kind of word-of-mouth reputation other contractors envy. The problem wasn't the work. The problem was visibility.
The site was running on Squarespace — the kind of off-the-shelf platform that looks fine but can't carry real SEO weight. Slow page loads, missing schema markup, broken meta data, and no real way to target the city-by-city keywords that drive local masonry work. When homeowners searched “masonry contractor cleveland” or “tuckpointing near me,” KS wasn't showing up. Visitors who did land on the site had no easy way to ask a question or get a quote outside of business hours.
Inbound calls were running 3–5 per week — and a number of those were the wrong kind of calls (out-of-area, wrong scope, tire-kickers).
Foundation, content, and a 24/7 lead engine
1. Technical SEO foundation
We started with a full audit. The baseline score was 64/100 — missing H1 tags, missing alt text on images, a handful of broken meta descriptions, and slow page loads from unoptimized images. Within two weeks we had every issue resolved and the score at 100/100.
- Compressed and re-encoded every image, fixed EXIF rotation issues
- Added FAQ schema, LocalBusiness schema, and Service schema across the site
- Cleaned up canonical URLs and the www/non-www redirect chain
- Rewrote meta titles and descriptions targeting Cleveland-area masonry queries
2. Service area expansion
Cleveland alone wasn't the whole market. Kyle wanted to attract jobs from Medina, Bay Village, Avon, and the broader West Side suburbs — areas with high homeownership rates and older masonry. We built dedicated service-area pages for each, optimized for local SEO.
3. Content that ranks
An ongoing series of SEO-targeted blog posts covering seasonal homeowner research — pieces like “Best Time of Year for Masonry Work in Ohio” and “Spring Masonry Checklist” — designed to capture intent at the start of every masonry season.
4. AI chatbot — the 24/7 lead engine
Most contractor websites die at 5pm. We built KS Masonry an AI chatbot that runs on every page and captures leads around the clock. Not a basic Q&A bot — it's trained on every aspect of the business so it actually knows what it's talking about.
- Trained on the full company knowledge base — service offerings, pricing approach, project history, certifications, service areas, scheduling, FAQs, common homeowner questions
- Captures visitor name, phone, email, job type, and urgency naturally from conversation
- Answers homeowner questions correctly and consistently — without making promises Kyle can't keep
- Recognizes when someone wants to talk to a human and escalates immediately
- Persists visitor identity across visits so returning customers are recognized
